looked over at Hannah, noticed she didn’t look like she was breathing. Checked her pulse to be sure. Ohhh Motel 6 and Svedka you fuck with my head.
Horrible scenarios running through my head all night.
LIFE IS GOOD. Don’t drink too much kids, it’s bad for you.
not even going to bother trying to update on everything….but even though I was out of national ranked competition with rosie for almost a year…we’ve come back better then ever? wtf….kicked ass at an olympic clinic yesterday…walked away with a training job in tally…and an offer to train in destin next summer…oh yeah and UCF wants me to head their new dressage team next fall? really wtf moment…so looks like I have my choice of schools come next fall. Oh and did I mention I am now sorta sponsored by the most MOST ill fitting boots of all time??? For real i dunno how im supposed to show in these bitches..On another note.. when everything is falling into place like it is why do I still feel like shit?
Ohhhh hell yeaaahhh baby!
Had an awesome week working with the horses. I’m starting to figure them all out a little more and am trying new things with them. Here’s a quick run through.
Dollar- Biggest challenge of the group. He is a draft cross and really has a stubborn streak in him. Basically worked on keeping him straight and moving this week. Next will be some ground driving to fill in some holes in his past training.
Digger- Such the packer :) Digger tries so hard to do everything right and he pretty much does. He has learned a lot about collection over the past couple weeks and is starting to build more muscle. His jumping has also improved. Just today I took him over some jumps and he did not try to rush even one jump. I also am working on getting him to gallop strongly between fences and come back to a canter to jump them. This will eventually help him when he runs an event.
Moe- Just started working with Moe this week so not much to say. He’s an awesome little TB that looks like a warmblood. It takes him a while to get going but he has a HUGE stride on him which I love. :) More on him next week.
Pocket- I pretty much love this horse. By Even the Score Pocket was bred to be an athlete. Maybe he didn’t make it on the track but this guy has a huge future in front of him. I already have him schooling Training level tests and jumping about two foot crossrails. He tends to look at the jumps but after one test jump he is ready to go. This week was also the first time I took Pocket out for a gallop. His stride is incredible. His knees just about touch his chin and he covers an incredible amount of ground effortlessly. He did get a little carried away and did a flying leap which wound up causing him to smack me in the face -_-. But I’m super excited for this guy and be sure to look for him at the Pocketchange Horse Trials at the end of the month.
*Rosie has two weeks till she is back to work! She looks great and has not lost any visible muscle so hopefully we can get back to where we were pretty quickly!!
Keep checking back for updates!!

So finally I was given the oppurtunity to work with some very nice local horses. I have started working with Dollar who is a 3 year TB Draft cross who seems like he will make a great jumper/dressage horse. It is amazing how calm he is for his age and I really credit it to his owner who constantly works on his ground manners. For now my main goal is to condition Dollar and hopefully get him to Training level by end of July. Next is Pocket. Pocket is a 4 year old TB stallion who has all the potential in the world. He is built perfectly and is such a blast to ride. Again, I have not ridden a stallion of any age that is as pleasant as this horse. Pocket is an incredible athlete and hopefully once he is conditioned a little more we can start some lower fences. I have a feeling he is going to make an awesome eventer. Last but not least is Digger. A 15 year old Holsteiner TB cross Digger has the mind and ability to be a very nice eventer. He has a huge stride and his so bold to fences. Like the other horses he has not been seriously worked in a while so he just needs some time. I am super excited about these horses and can’t wait for them to join Rosie and I on the show circuit.
Rosie sadly has been having some neurological issues we can’t seem to figure out so she is off for the month.
Hey guys so no Ocala this month..I figured I would keep the schooling shows to a minimum and just focus on recognized shows for the summer. So all systems are go for Poplar Place in June. Rosie is doing fantastic! I just hope I can get back to lessons with my trainer before I get any bad habits going!!!!
Keep Checking Back!
the good and bad experiences are engraved on my face. I can see them..the scars, my heartaches and triumphs are there in my eyes..
